Mark of Peace
Tell me: who decided that it was good to be divided,
Tell me: who’s so opposed to hearts being united
Tell me why our vision of peace is so short-sighted
Well I’ll tell you my peace, I’m not going to hide it
Tell me:
why do we make the mistake to tolerate hate, while they dictate their mandate and reshape our state?
Of mind, to be kind, its how we’re designed
To be seen as less than human?
Now that’s crossing the line.
Borders and orders as hard as concrete We see the crimes and horrors as we take a back seat,
People losing their homes, children struggling to eat, imagine using your tears to wash your own feet
Don’t practice silence in the violence,
As you close your own eyelids,
Covering your ears to the sound of injustice and riots,
They type numbers on a screen,
Could they be more sadistic?
These are human lives,
Not just your statistics,
Now how do we fix this?
We could just appreciate and validate
Don’t hesitate to equate or relate to our brothers and sisters living in harm,
Misinformation should be setting off alarms,
We were all those kids just playing in the mud,
Cut me right now, guess what? We bleed the same blood!
Red and flowing coursing with pain,
Yet all over the ground, silent and stained
Overshadowed by lust and greed for fame,
How could we ever possibly explain
This!
To the future generations?
Did any of that sound like justification?
This is just a fraction
Of my frustration,
But I won’t let it blind me from this revelation.
Spread empathy, kindness, love and union
For all these races I see here, only one,
And thats HUMAN.
